Evening at home

After all the outings, it's time to chill out at home and play with some of the toys that I have.

Meals in Barcelona winter

Here we are in Cacao Sampaka, only in the coolest chocolate store and cafe in Barcelona - way hipper and less pretentious than Max Brenner. No loser poser dudes here, just genuine folks enjoying their chocolate fix.

And dinner was at La Madre Tapas - a nice Catalan eatery and I'm happy to be with Dad, Mom and Aunt Sarah.
 

Lunch at Cerversaria Catalana

That's Catalan beerhouse for you. And it's my parents' favorite restaurant in the whole city. Only been there 4 times in the last 6 weeks. It has great service, nice waiters, friendly people, great beer (not that I've tasted) and fantastic tapas.
Very nice cosy environment.

Sunday outing to Sagrada Familia

Here we are at the doorway of our apartment and I'm raring to go out! Let's go!
I know it's cold but no hats!!!
And no blankets either.. I'm not an infirm!
Finally at the surrouds of the church - Gaudi's still unfinished masterpiece. These spanish are loco. 

chillin' out with Dad

Here are we guys hanging out in the evening. Me with my fresh corn and Dad with his pizza and beer. Just regular guy stuff and watching basketball. 

On to Mercat Boqueria

We're on our way to Mercat Boqueria and we've stopped at Placa del St Jaume for some quick pics and to see the Christmas decorations.

Mercat Boqueria is the most famous and largest fresh produce market in Barcelona and it's huge, with more than 100 stores. They even have mangosteens and dragon fruits, but it's expensive as expected.
 

Saturday outing

Yippee! It's a long weekend and we are going out!
It's really cold and I'm all bundled up. Feel quite warm and cosy carried by Dad.

That's me in the Metro and we're on our way to La Ramblas.

Here I am - favorite activity before sleep - that's brushing my teeth - actually I like the taste of the yummy toothpaste.
Yawn - good afternoon after an excellent nap!
Now that I've fully awakened, what's to play?
Nighttime and see ya tomorrow! 

Aunt Sarah visits

Grandparents have left and Aunt Sarah now visits me. It's good to see a familiar face. And now I am waiting till Christmas to see grandma in Chicago. 

Hermitage of Sant Joan

At the very top is a walkway to the Hermitage of Sant Joan. Didn't go there, but instead took some pics along the way. Wanted to climb some mountains, but dad didn't allow me. Spoilsport. 

Playing in Montserrat

After running around Montserrat, it's time to take the funicular train (like the Penang tram) up to the Hermitage of Sant Joan. It's a 300m climb in the train up an extremely steep slope and you can see the rest of the Monastry from the tram. Breathtaking!
