Barcelona Zoo

Here we are at the zoo, just behind Ciutadella Parc. Thank goodness we had applied for the zoo pass, so we didn't have to queue up to buy tickets. We initially had low expectations of the zoo, but it was really well done. The animals looked really healthy and their primate exhibits were excellent. Of note, their gorillas had already conceived and delivered an infant in captivity. That's really amazing.

Here Russell is taking a look at some really large birds - land based, mainly. Most of them can't really fly.

And some flamingoes in the background. Russell loved this spot and at one point even wanted to wade across the water to touch the flamingoes.
